My cats do this all the time…
I will never understand those girls who post things like “I need to be skinnier” or “I want my legs to have a gap” and stuff along those lines, but then reblog photos of super curvy girls talking about how much they want to look like them.
Please be consistent.
I know that it sounds rude, but honestly, It just confuses me.
Well, I don’t think you can really ask someone who has a negative body image to be consistent about what they want. The bottom line is that they don’t want to be who they are. They want something that they think is prettier than them, whether it be skinny or curvy. They want to feel pretty. But more specifically with what you’re talking about, they want to be skinnier and have a gap between their legs because it is physically possible for them; changing their natural body shape isn’t. I’m not sure how to explain this, but I’ll do my best. They feel that girls who are overweight and have a proportional shape are attractive, and all skinny girls are attractive. Since they can’t have that body shape, size is their only alternative. So they hold both of these unrealistic (for them) ideals of beauty, but one is more attainable. I know, because I am one of those girls. I think curvy women are fucking sexy, but I want to be skinnier because I don’t/can’t have their curves. Ugh, I hope I was coherent.
